Role: Data Warehouse Project Manager
Worked for over six years at ACS in New York City on Data Warehousing and Integrated Case Management Systems (ICMS) project. The responsibilities involved Project Management, Business analysis, Mentoring, Data Analysis, Systems Architecture, Data Integration, and Data Modeling.
Developed and implemented data integration and data warehousing solution for ACS. This involved analysis of key NY State systems such as CONNECTIONS, WMS & CCRS used for collecting and processing key data related to the Cases, Individuals, and Workers. This included understanding of “Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System” (SACWIS) requirements along with the analysis of workflows, key data collection and processing rules particularly with regard to child protection and child welfare services.
Responsibility and Key achievements are:
- Interacted with the top executives, business sponsors, and ‘IT’ department to analyze and define the ACS data integration and reporting needs.
- Proposed overall strategy and phased approach for creating an Integrated Case Management and Data Warehousing solution.
- Created the Architecture to support both the short term and long term data integration and management reporting business needs of ACS. This involved integrating NYC applications to NY State applications along with centralized data repository and data warehouse.
- Developed central repository of Child cases, individual and worker data within the ACS enterprise database. Created Architecture for integrating the NY State WMS data feeds into the ACRSplus application.
- Worked on architecture, data modeling and overall design of the solution. Involved in the technology and software tools evaluation and recommendations.
- Managed a team of over twenty persons to perform the analysis, design, development, and implementation tasks.
- Created a centralized Operational Data Store which has complete caseload information residing in a single database. The ODS supported by data feeds from the New York State systems of record (Connections and WMS) as well as the data feeds of Child Protective Services (CPS) cases and preventive cases by ACS workers data from ACS database.
- Created data warehousing solution with the integrated Child, Case, Staff, Time and Organization data to provide management reports regarding caseloads and case activity. Also this data warehousing enables ACS to increase the rate of reimbursements through earlier identification of inconsistencies in case records, better tracking of eligibility determinations and earlier notification of compliance requirements.

The Data Warehouse is more than Terabyte in size and features powerful analytical tools, flexible reporting capability and leverages the corporation's authoritative sources of information.
Responsibility:
- Original creator and architect of JPMorgan’s enterprise wide customer profitability Data warehouse. Worked on this project from inception. Conceived, designed, developed and implemented the data warehouse solution from scratch.
- Managed the complete project with a team size of over twenty five persons.
- Analyzed the existing systems and the business user requirements for tactical and strategic needs.
- Defined the Architecture and the various phases to create the data warehouse.

- Worked on Design and development of Data Warehouse for Nextel Communications. This involved interacting and facilitating JAD sessions with the business users to gather and analyze the business requirements. Created the complete technical architecture including the Extraction, Transformation, Storage and Data Access method.
- Responsible for all the stages of this project. This included evaluation of toolsets, software and hardware, creation of the application architecture including the warehouse maintenance and change management. - This system is being developed in ORACLE EXPRESS Multi Dimensional Database. Created the MOLAP dimensional model and created the complete design of the Database. Developed Oracle Analyzer OLAP front end for users to perform adhoc queries with drill down capabilities. Create the Internet/Web OLAP front-end using Oracle Web Publisher.

- Worked as the Data Warehouse consultant for creating a Database Marketing Data Mart Project for Price Waterhouse consultant for creating a Database Marketing Data Mart Project for Price Waterhouse. This turnkey project is been done for Bell Atlantic (Telecommunication company).
- Worked on analyzing the requirements of Marketing department. Created Logical STAR/Snow Flake Data Model using ERWIN Case Tool. This Data Mart model had over fifteen dimensions including dimensions to reflect the customer demographics and segmentation details.
- Created the Data Mart Physical Data model on DB2 database. Designed the complete architecture of this Data Mart. Optimized the Database Storage and performance by creating suitable aggregated tables.
- Designed the Data Extraction, Cleaning and Transformation process. Integrated the External Source Data (PRISM, CLARITAS, Axiom) to the internal data and consolidated into the Data Mart.
- Developed MicroStrategy (DSS Agent/DSS Architecture) front end to perform OLAP analysis. Worked to establish the connectivity from MicroStrategy to DB2 using Client Application Enable (CAE) and ODBC. Designed the DSS Objects including Filters and Templates for OLAP analysis.
- Also evaluated the alternate Data Warehouse architecture for long-term needs using SMP Clusters and three-tier architecture with Oracle as the middle tier using DSS Serve.

Data Warehouse Architect
Responsibility was to design and implement an enterprise Data Warehouse to meet the decision support needs of users in the area of Stock Options, 401K plans and the Brokerage activities.
During this project, specifically performed the following functions:
- Facilitated JAD sessions to gather the data warehouse requirements from the users.
- Designed a three tier based Data Warehouse architecture.
- Customized and Implemented Bill Inmon’s data warehouse development methodology for Merrill Lynch.
- Performed Vendor Product evaluation and Selection for: Data Extraction and Transformation Tools, Meta Data Tools, Database (DBMS), DSS OLAP tools (Product analysis included the World Wide Web/Internet Interfaces).
- Created the Data Warehouse Data Model to store atomic level data and the summarized data.
- Performed Dimensional Data modeling and created Star Schema and Snow Flakes Schema data model to meet the OLAP needs.
- Created a Prototype data warehouse and provided the OLAP front end to show the Drill Down, Roll ups, Pivoting, Slice and Dice features.
- Created the Design for Extraction process from legacy systems using combined techniques of Data Replication and Change Data Capture.

- Worked on Re-engineering of “Contract Development” process for Department of Employment Agency (DOE). Role included analysis of business requirements followed by preparation of a cost justified solution. After the acceptance of the proposed solution, worked to design and develop this new Re-engineered system.
- Responsibilities include interaction with the end users, analysis of business processes, consolidation of requirements followed by Business Process Re-engineering. Worked using Ed Yordon methodology for developing client server applications. This included techniques of Event driven approach, Joint Application Design (JAD) & Rapid Application Development (RAD).
- Consolidated the requirements and worked to create the Enterprise Data Model along with the Logical Data Model for the system using ERWIN CASE tool. Created Entities, attributes, relationships and the data dictionary for the system.
- Re-engineered, designed and created Enterprise Database in SQL Server running on Windows NT Server. Created Stores Procedures, Triggers, Rules & Defaults to ensure data integrity and consistency on SQL Server database.
- In addition to transactional systems, also created Data Structures for Corporate Data Warehousing for Decision Support Systems (DSS). Analyzed, designed and created the Data Warehouse model which includes, data structures, Meta Data, and design to transform and load data into warehouse. Also looked into aspects of Multidimensional Databases verses the Relational/OLAP.
- Using PowerBuilder designed and presented Prototypes to end-users. Designed the GUI front end of Decision Support Systems (DSS) and transactional systems in PowerBuilder. Designed and developed the entire application using Object Oriented approach. Extensively used features like Object Inheritance, User Objects, DataWindows, Nested reports, etc. of PowerBuilder 4.0.

- Worked on Analysis, Design, and Development of the Royalty Management System.
- Analyzed the existing system, interacted with the end users to consolidate the business requirements. Developed the Logical Data Model (Entities, attributes and relationships) using EXCELERATOR CASE Tool. Created the Data Dictionary and standardized the data elements and terminology.
- Designed and created data model for Data Warehouse needs. Developed processes to extract, transform and integrate operational data into data warehouse. Evaluated ORACLE database for Data Warehouse needs.

- Responsible for the complete design and development of “Credit Card Rating System” and “Sears Apparel Merchandising System (SAMS)” for Sears Canada. Credit Card system created provided real time feature to get the Credit ratings from the Credit Bureaus.
- SAMS system, which was Relational/OLAP data warehouse based Decision Support System (DSS) was Prototype and developed on Sybase and PowerBuilder. It provided GUI based user-friendly interface for Forecasting & Trend analysis (for sales and inventory) for the different demographics and regions.
- Responsible for entire analysis and design of both of these projects. Also included was client interaction, project planning and management.
- Worked with the Sears personnel for requirement analysis and functional design. As a Business and Data Analyst, performed detailed analysis along with logical and physical data modeling using EXCELERATOR. Created and documented Business Process Model. This included all the function and process dependencies.
- Designed both Operational and Data Warehousing data model. Created the data structures and the transformation processes along with the design of Meta Data for DSS.
